Our Ministry.
Lao Lutheran Worshiping Community builds our foundation on the Word of God;
Reaching out to others with comforting words and helpful deeds; Providing Sunday school
classes and church activities during Easter and Christmas holidays. Attending annual
Laotian Lutheran Network Conference throughout the US.
The ministry of God began when God’s peoples learn to love their neighbor as
themselves. And their eyes are blinded to the people regardless of their social status or
the color of their skins. The bible said we become children of God when we by Grace
through Faith realized what Christ Jesus did on the cross for our sins and has accepted
what Christ did for us on calvary cross. It’s the power of Holy Spirit that produced Faith
and opened our eyes to the Truth. By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to set out
for a place that he was to receive as an inheritance; and he set out, not knowing where he
was going. We too when we by faith, trust in the Lord for what he did on the cross for our
sins. We not only become children of God but also followers of Jesus Christ. Everything
we do should reflect our Christians and moral values.
As a church, we reach out to the Laotian community and help those with whatever
problems or concerns they were experiencing. Encourage families to stay together and
minister the Word of God to them. Each time we gather together in a one common place of
worship our faith become stronger and helps us grow in the knowledge of God.
Encouragement story:
Ever since our Worshiping community began at Advent Lutheran, one elderly woman
name Mai Outhay has been diagnosed with Perkin son disease. Mai Outhay rarely misses
Sunday worship. Even if she can't stand during service, which most of us take for granted,
she manages to have someone pick her up for Sunday worship. Her love for God is so
great, not even her disease can stop her from coming to church. You can count on seeing
her singing, worshiping, and praising to the lord.
Miracle Story: (If God is yesterday, today, and forever, Jesus Christ is the same, why
should God stop doing his miracles? Is it still happening in our community today?)
(Yes, God miracle happened in the Laotian Worshiping Community)
A miracle happened to a woman in our congregation name (Mai Phunmaha Keosay). The
doctor has given her couple of weeks to live after her terminal cancer surgery.
Miraculously, her cancer has completely disappeared and the Lord had restored her and
added many more years to her life. Praise the Lord!! It was during those couple of weeks
while she was being cared for at home that many had prayed for her. The Sacrament of
the Lord Supper was administered to her at her home. I believed it was the taking of the
Lord's body and blood that healed her. Praise the lord for our God is alive and his miracles
still works in us today.
Serves to God is important to all believers. God desires that we as his children, bears
much fruit. That will only happen when we rendered our service to God. Simply knowing
Christ in not enough for what God did for you and me, we should hold hands and run the
race together, as Paul had stated in the Bible, so that we can press toward the mark of our
high callings. We must continue to examine ourselves and ask these questions: Are we
friends of Jesus Christ? Are we go in peace and serve the Lord? Is there anything too
hard for God? Is there anything He can not grant us through prayers?
